Aon (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services company, offers new and affordable health insurance that offers a wide range of risk, retirement and health solutions. Aon is working with Equipsme, a company that offers simple and practical health plans for companies, to bring health insurance to thousands of other employees in the UK, which is especially important as employers consider their health strategies in light. of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Equipsme's standard coverage, at £ 7 per person per month, includes private physical therapy appointments, as well as remote GP service, private prescription delivery and access to an online health check and nurse helpline from AXA PPP. It offers the same rates to people between 16 and 69 years old, whether they are new or existing customers.
Employees can increase their coverage and add family members by paying separately through their direct debit. These costs, as self-funded, would not attract any P11d programs and the process also reduces the administrative impact on payroll teams.
Aon's 2020 UK Benefits and Trends survey revealed that 52% of employers offer private, fully funded company health insurance to all employees, leaving many employees to self-finance voluntarily or without any benefits.
David Patel, UK head of employee benefits for Aon, said:
“For a number of companies, offering conventional private health insurance (PMI) as an advantage can only be achieved for the top members of their teams, which could leave large numbers of their members without any health coverage.
"As much as companies want to offer valuable benefits like PMI to all of their employees, some employers will find this not financially viable. This new health insurance option gives employers choice and flexibility, which is especially important now because COVID -19 is changing the way we live. We work and receive support in health and well-being. "
Each Equipsme plan holder receives a medical check-up online and has 24/7 access to a private GP service as well as physiotherapy. The stress support offered by professional counselors can be added to £ 1.50 per employee per month.
Plans can also be updated to include special diagnosis and hospital treatment. Currently, this is offered as a digital evaluation and a guide to personalized treatment if the procedure cannot be safely postponed. With the reduction of closures and the return of private hospitals to treat patients who are not urgent, planners will be able to access diagnosis and treatment in person.
Equipsme founder Matthew Reed said:
"Companies are reprioritizing the employee benefits they provide and why, with a focus on impact and sustainability. We are excited that Aon sees the opportunity to help more companies across the country deliver a benefit. of significant value to all your teams.
"Equipsme's offering is flexible with hands-on health support from day one that provides access to professional advice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We believe it will be a very attractive proposition for companies across the country in no time. where remote access to health and wellness support is more important than ever. " It continued with the effects of COVID-19. "
